Welcome to March for the Hungry 
EVERY
CHILD CAN HELP FEED A HUNGRY CHILD is the theme of this year's annual
Ruth W. Shapiro March for the Hungry. members of the National Council
of Jewish Women (NCJW) Northwest Broward Section and their children,
along with the students of over 40 public and private schools,
businesses and organzations in Broward County will be collecting
non-perishable food during the week of April 8-15, 2010.
Everyone
participating in the event is asked to bring at least ONE non-perishable
food item to their school or other site during the collection week.
Schools from Parkland to Hollywood and Ft. Lauderdale to Weston
are getting in on the action and collecting. Food will be picked
up by the members of NCJW. Fliers, boxes, and posters are
available to assist in the collection of the food. All food
collected will be brought to Sawgrass Springs Middle School, 12500
West Sample Road, Coral Springs, FL on April 15th from 5:00pm to
8:00 pm for the collection event.
At the collection night volunteers will be putting together summer food boxes for children in need. Boxes can be sponsored for $25.00 each and will be distributed through the Broward Schools. If you would like to sponsor a box, please make your check out to NCJW-Northwest Broward Section for as many boxes as you would like to sponsor. Donated food will be given
to three major food pantries serving Broward County: WECARE, and
The Cooperative Feeding Program. Food is also donated to the Family
Resource Center, which services families in the Coral Springs and
Parkland areas.
